Especially now, when it's stormy and snowing outside, a hot bath is just the thing to relax and warm you up from the inside. Bath balls provide the extra portion of fun in the tub. But they don't have to come from the drugstore, you can easily make them yourself at home. Also ideal as a gift! shark bath bomb

Basic recipe for bath balls
You probably don't have all the ingredients for bubbling bath fun at home. Once you've bought them, however, you can use them to make your bath rituals and those of your friends something special. Aromatic oils provide a fine fragrance, while plant oils have a nourishing effect.

A combination of baking soda and citric acid is used to make the bath bubble and fizz. If that's not enough, you can colour the balls or the water with food colouring or add a touch of romance with flower petals.

This is what you need for the basic recipe:
500 g baking powder/soda
120 g cornflour
1 tablespoon milk powder
120 g nourishing vegetable fats (solid) (e.g. cocoa butter, shea butter, coconut oil)
or nourishing vegetable oils (e.g. olive oil, sunflower oil, argan oil)
250 g citric acid (don't worry, this is really safe)
approx. 15 drops of aromatic oil as desired (lavender oil, rose oil, vanilla oil)
Decorations as desired (e.g. food colouring or flower petals)
Step by step to bathing fun
If you are making the bath balls for the first time, use a little more vegetable fat to achieve a firmer consistency. After mixing the solid ingredients first, add the liquid ingredients and knead thoroughly. If you use vegetable fats, you must first melt them in a saucepan.

Now shape the dough into balls with your hands or use different cookie cutters for fancy designs. There are no limits to your creativity! Afterwards, you can decorate the balls as you like. Now they have to dry for about two hours at 50 degrees in the oven or in the air for a few days.

Then knead all the pieces individually and shape them by hand into the desired shape. Alternatively, you can roll out the dough and use cookie cutters.
